Luca Argentero lost 10 kilograms to play a role in the Netflix series “Motor Valley.” The actor will be the leader of a Gran Turismo championship team, a role that required enormous dedication from him, even off the set. To meet the demands of the role, he had to transform his body as well.

The Diet

“In Italy, it’s not so common to radically change for a role, even though recently the actresses in ‘This is Not Hollywood,’ the series about the Scazzi murder, did an enormous job in this sense,” Argentero said in an interview with Corriere della Sera. “For script requirements, I am particularly underweight today, having lost 10 kilograms. My body has always been a working tool for me. I’ve always had a careful relationship with food, though not obsessively.” The actor then explained that he was followed by a nutritionist to achieve this result: “To lose these kilograms, I was followed by a nutritionist on set, significantly reduced calories, and managed carbohydrates. Now, for Christmas, I can relax a bit, but I can’t regain all the weight because we haven’t finished filming yet.”

The Children’s Diet

Argentero also explained that he has always been attentive to food, as is his partner Cristina Martino. This attention is something they are trying to pass on to their children: “I’m strong with main courses, but for the kids, we prepare very simple things. The grandmothers help us, they win them over with meatballs. What Cristina Marino and I try to do in everyday life is teach them healthy habits without demonizing any food. They occasionally eat snacks, maybe at a friend’s house, but we avoid them. It’s what you do every day that makes the difference.”
